Catalog : Product Manager : Edit : Categories

Categories

This section of the platform is for viewing which Categories your Product is currently located in.

What is a Category?

Category is a folder location which is used to store / group Products together. Every Product within the Catalog exists within one or multiple Categories, making them an essential element for managing Products effectively.

Product level Categories offers visibility of the locations that the selected product is currently stored within - no changes can be made to the Categories via this menu (this is managed via Settings > Categories).

How to View the active Product Categories

By default, top level Categories are displayed in the Tree View, represented as expandable folders and sub-folders based on the Categories that you own / have access to.

To quickly find all Categories associated with the Product, click the Expand Assigned button:

This will automatically expand all folders to show the active Category locations, which are represented by a tick box:

How to Add the Product to more Categories

The Product can be added to any expanded category or subcategory by clicking the tick box next to each folder.
Note: This is based on relevant write access permissions of the selected Product and Categories. Any attempt to select Categories where required permissions are not in place will result in error.

These changes will apply immediately, making the Product available in the specified Category locations which are then searchable in Product Manager and other associated search functions.
