What is the Excel Import used for?
The import is used by Fulfillers to create new Products or to edit existing ones.
Create: Add new 'basic' Blank Products in bulk.
Advanced Product settings are not supported, making the import unsuitable for creating complex Blank Products.

Edit: Update configured settings across a range of existing Blank Products. Some typical use cases are;
To view / replace Aspect Options (preview images) in bulk
To review / edit Print Area settings, or to add new Print Areas
To review / edit Image and Text functionality settings, or add new areas
The Excel Import is intended to be used with Blank Products only and may lead to undesirable results if used to edit other product types.
To edit existing Products, they should be 'selected' or filtered in Product Manager prior to generating an Excel Export.
The generated XLS file serves as a template, allowing the Product data to be edited in a format that is then suitable for use with the Excel Import to update the Products.
It is recommended that Imports are tested on a sample range prior to rollout across a high volume of Products.
