What are bins?
Bins in the Kornit X system come in two types
PACKING - These bins are used to consolidate items on an order which should be dispatched together, these are used in conjunction with our Floor Shipping Station.
KITTING - These bins are used to collect all parts of a cut and sew DTF item together, kitting is a station in the workflow specifically catered to the DTF cut and Sew industry.
Adding New Bins
To add new bins you can simply click the "+ Add Bins" button in the top right of the screen
This will popup and ask for a company your bins should be created against.
NOTE - if you have a Organisation type company this should ideally be used to create bins, this means that orders split to different production centres if multiple are used can still be consolidated together using packing bins.
Once you have selected a company you can then define how many bins you want to create and their type.
When you then select "Add Bins" they will automatically be created using ascending numbers, so if you select 10 bins they will be numbered 1 through 10. If you select 10 bins but already have 50 created they will be numbered 51-60.
Actions on Bins
If a bin has an order / item allocated to it you will see the ID in the table view and will be able to click that ID to take you to the order, there you can perform actions such as partial dispatch for example.
You can also use the table view to select one or more bins which will allow the actions to Release or Delete the bins.
NOTE - Bins deleted cannot be retrieved but the numbers will still be registered and cannot be reused. If you delete 5 bins and then recreate 5 these will be generated from the highest bin even if that bin was deleted.
Release will remove any connection between the order / items and bins marking it as empty so it can be reused. This should not be needed in general day to day use as bins will be released when items are fully kitted or orders or fully dispatched automatically but can used as a manual override where needed.
