What are Companies?
This section of the Platform is for the management and creation of Companies within the entire system. There are multiple types of Company types supported and a breakdown of each type can be found here.
What are Companies?
Companies exist in the Platform as a way for products and orders to all be set with Companies in mind. Companies can be seen all throughout the system such as the fulfillers set against products and all orders going through different Dropships.
Understanding the types of Companies
There are many types of Companies found within the platform, these have been defined below.
Sales Channel
Sales Channel is a company type best used when the company in question is that of a retail company.
Sales Channel Companies can have the following integrations set against them - Sales Channel, Accounting & Notificatons
Production Centre
The Production Centre Company is best used by a company who has a factory which acts as a Production Centre. There are options that the Company can set here such as the default artwork generation, print station, SKU mapping, scan points and batching among other advanced settings needed by the Production Centre to print products.
Production Companies can have the following integrations set against them - Production, RIP & Notifcations
Dropship
A dropship is a company set with a relationship between a sales channel and fulfiller. These companies can be used within Order Manager as a Dropship containing orders taken from a Sales Channel and sent to a Fulfiller.
Dropship Companies can have the following integrations set against them - Accounting, Notifications, Supplier, Shipper & PaymentFor Retailer users wishing to generate Product Feeds within Sales > Feeds, the system can be used to create missing Dropship companies. Retailers will receive the "Missing Dropship Partnership" pop up for the Fulfillers relating to the Products.
Users can generate the Dropship Partnerships by clicking the "Create Dropships" button.
Please note, Dropship Partnerships will not allow orders until the relevant fulfillers have approved the Dropship Partnership
Fulfiller
This is the company that fulfils products, meaning when the product is ordered they will be sent over to that fulfiler.
Every product in Platform will be associated to a Fulfiller Company.
Organisation
This acts as an administrative company and is best used by any organisation that comprises of a number of different Companies. These will be needed by any Organisation who needs multiple fulfiller, sales channel or dropship companies created as they can all be linked to the Organisation.
All other Company types can have an organisation set agaisnt them, making it easier for a connection between Organsiations and other Companies easier.
Licence / Brand
This company type is best used for companies who are a Brand or Licence holder. With using these in Platform you can set a Percentage Value against the company so for every product ordered with that brand set will send some of the money to this licence or brand. This company type can be set agaisnt products in the eCommerce Data field known as Licence Company (with a dropdown to search for the licence) and a Licence Percentage.
The following information is needed to create this type of Company and this includes the brand name, contact email address and the Organisation company ID.
How to create Companies
To be able to create a new Company simply head to the New Company button and upon pressing you will be brought to the Basic Details section of the Company setup screen. Please note the menus will be different depending on the type of Company being set up.
When creating a Company you need to set information like the Name, Type, Organisation, Sales Channel, Locale, Currency, Sales Person and Contact Information.
When a company is created they can thenbe set up with any intergations needed, Advanced Settings, Charging, Accounting and Returns information.
Within the Basic Details you can set the Name, Type, Organisation, Images as well as many more options.
To be able to create companies within your user you must have an Enterprise subscription
Managing Companies
From the Companies menu you can also filter and search for your companies. When modifying a company you can update anything from the Name, Contact Details, Type, Locale, Currency, Sales Person, Contact Information and Advanced Settings. These have been explained in more detail within the type of company in-line help text.
There are multiple ways to search for the Company needed and these include the following
- Searching can be done via the name or ID of the company
- Searching can be done via the Organisation dropdown to find all companies existing with that organisation associated to them.
- Searching can also be done via the Type dropdown which lists the multiple types of company types.
Companies can also be deactivated, to do so simply go into the Category that needs to go and select the "Deactivate" button. If a deactivated company needs to return, simply press the button again which would now be labelled "Activate".
Companies can now provide users with the associated API Key. To do so simply head to the Advanced section in the Company setup window and open the "API" sub head and click to reveal the API Key.
