Product Manager : Variants

Variants

This section of the platform is for configuring Variants and associating SKUs to your product options.

What is a Variant?

A Variant is an identifier for the variable product options on a Blank Product, for example;
  1. A T-Shirt available in 5 size options is representative of 5 physical items and would therefore have 5 Variants.
  2. A T-Shirt available in 5 size & 5 colour options is representative of 25 physical items and would therefore have 25 Variants.
A unique SKU can be set against each Variant, allowing Fulfillers to determine exactly which options (or combination of options) have been ordered.

What options can be defined as a Variant?

Each Variant can be configured based on multiple option combinations to suit a range of requirements. Utilising some of these options will require some pre-configuration against the Blank Product in the Platform.
  1. SKU: The custom Variant SKU
  2. Stock Product: Associate a stock product for stock management purposes. Requires Stock Products and Inventory
  3. Production Attributes: Associate production information to each Variant. Requires Attribute Sets
  4. Aspect Options: Set a Variant based on configured preview options (eg Colour).
  5. Attribute Options: Set a Variant based on a configured Attribute (eg Size).
  6. Print Size: Set a Variant based on configured Print Sizes.

How to Add Variants

There are two options for adding Variants to Products;
  1. Manual: Add one at a time to a single Product using the '+ Variant' button
  1. Import: Add multiple Variants to multiple selected Products via Product Managers Import tools
The Variant Export can be used to extract a data template from the platform, with relevant column headers for the selected Products.
An example Import sheet with dummy data is available for reference here

How to Edit Variants

By default, any configured Variants are shown in a list. The list is customisable, allowing columns to be hidden / displayed for convenient viewing and editing.

Each row represents a separate Variant, and features all settings which can be manually edited inline using the interactive fields.

Alternatively, Variants can be updated in bulk using the Variant Import in Product Manager, for one or multiple selected Products.
